Sikh Riders Of Canada Club is a not for profit registered society in Canada formed by group of Motorcycle enthusiasts who are passionate about motorcycles and committed to raise awareness and educate people about the Sikh pioneers who have been in British Columbia since 1897, Promote turban (Dastaar) & work to build a bridge with other communities.
Sikhs who wear turbans are exempt from wearing helmets while riding their motorcycles. The exemption is one of a number of areas in which the group tries to increase awareness in. The turban is an essential and integral part of a Sikh’s religious belief and their way of life. It is an obligatory and inseparable part of the being of a Sikh. British Columbia and Manitoba are the only Canadian provinces in which turbans can take the place of helmets.
